With our significant increase in moving lumber from a variety of southeastern lumber companies northbound to the midwest, we have joined the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturer’s Association (SLMA). We are looking forward to our new relationships, supporting our customer’s industry and working to grow our southeastern presence.
Dennis Boesdorfer made a special visit today to a couple area pre-schools to the delight of students…and some grandsons.
Brent Boesdorfer of Boesdorfer Trucking joined with fellow Illinois Trucking Association members from across the state at the nation’s capital this week for the association’s annual Call on Washington. ITA members were joined by state trucking associations from Ohio, New York, Kansas and Minnesota.
ITA members discussed the need for long-term investment in roads and bridges and the need for additional oversight of FMCSA and the CSA system. Members also asked for repeal of the 12% Federal Excise Tax on new equipment. In addition, ITA pressed FMCSA on why the agency is willing to delay rulemakings for Electronic Logging Devices, but they are not willing to delay the new HOS set to take effect on July 1. A federal court could throw out the new HOS rule later this summer if a lawsuit brought by the American Trucking Associations is successful. Overall, a very productive and educational trip for all involved!

Central Illinois Trucks has allowed us to take the newly released Kenworth T680 for a weeklong road test this week. This model is supposed to get 5% better fuel milage that our current Kenworth T660 models. This particular truck has the new Eaton Auto-10 speed (2-pedal) transmission, top of the line interior, and disc brakes all around. Should be a good trip!
